about-us
Who we are
We are Dennis (35) and Anastasia (38), and in 2021 we moved to Sweden together with our three children.
At that time, we left our life in Germany completely behind – including our home, daily routines and everything that came with it – and started a new chapter in the north of Sweden.
Why Sweden?
This decision didn’t happen overnight. For a long time, we had been drawn to Sweden’s calmness, nature and way of life.
As life in Germany became more hectic for us, we realized that we were longing for something different: more time, more space and a simpler way of living.
Sweden offered exactly that.
Our new life in the north
Today, we live in a small Swedish village in the far north.
Life here is very different:
- fewer people
- more nature
- a slower pace of life
The long winters, the silence and the vast landscapes take some getting used to – but they are exactly what makes life here so special for us.
The journey wasn’t always easy
As beautiful as life in Sweden is, the journey here wasn’t always easy.
We had to:
- learn many new things
- adapt to a different system
- face challenges we had never experienced before
Things like bureaucracy, finding a job or managing everyday life without a personal identity number can be difficult at the beginning.
Why this blog?
This blog was created out of these experiences.
We want to share what we’ve learned and help others who are thinking about taking the same step.
Here you’ll find:
- honest insights into our life in Sweden
- practical tips for moving abroad
- information about work, housing and daily life
- and also the challenges that are often not talked about
Our goal
Our goal is to give you a realistic picture of what it’s like to move to Sweden – without sugarcoating things, but also without unnecessary negativity.
Moving abroad is a big decision. The better prepared you are, the easier your start will be.
Conclusion
For us, moving to Sweden was the right decision.
We have found a new home here – with more peace, more nature and a different way of living.
And maybe our story can help you find your own path.
